West Coast in picture. Westport

Day 9.

The last few kilometers on the West Coast were very beautiful and very wavy. The vegetation has changed. Nikau palm trees have been added to the landscape. These appear here because the north of the West Coast enjoys a warm wind from Australia.

Architecture of the 1930s and Victorian houses blend in the streets of Westport. The atmosphere seems to hang in the air, the streets are so quiet. The few shops stretch along the main street. At the end is the sea. I can see the coast stretch in the distance. Feet in the sand, contemplating the horizon I feel that something is slow ending. The moment seems important without me knowing why.

About

West Coast in Picture presents the places that most marked or interested me during my journey across the West Coast.

My ride

Here I am, arrived at Westport, the end of my journey on the West Coast. The region still stretches over a hundred kilometers to the north, but the road is one-way. Unfortunately I do not have time to go there.
